The medium of stained glass has been a traditional craft impervious to radical change. In contrast, my work is very contemporary with modern, architectural glass forms. My leaded work combines cast glass bevels, hand-blown art glass and lead. I use lead not only structurally, but also decoratively in order to enhance the design. The lead moves throughout the window, giving it a bold look and transcending traditional stained glass.

My emphasis is on the exploration of glass and light, infused with a personal sense of design and form. To understand my vision one must investigate the language and properties of light. Light is universally understood; it takes no special education to respond to it. Used as an art medium, it has a special value because of its ability to produce a primal pleasure. The play of light through glass, transforming interiors with color and light patterns, is an aesthetic and emotional delight.
