Established in 1998, John Boekenoogen transformed his family’s fifth generation cattle ranch into a vineyard producing outstanding grapes and now very fine wine. Nestled atop the foothills in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County, California, lies family owned and operated Boekenoogen Vineyards and Winery. The combination of superior clones, rocky well-drained soils, meticulous viticulture practices, foggy mornings and sunny afternoons moderated by cooling maritime breezes, has resulted in superior grapes. With state of the art winery equipment mixed with old world wine making methods, Boekenoogen Wines are proving to be some of the most pristine wines in the country.

With a rustic quaint interior setting and a beautiful outdoor garden patio our Tasting Room will put anyone in the mood for tasting some of the Santa Lucia Highlands finest Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays as well as Cabernet, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Syrah and Viognier from our Carmel Valley Estate Vineyard.

Vineyards
Our Boekenoogen Estate Vineyard is located in the heart of Santa Lucia Highlands Appellation where we grow world class Pinot Noirs, Petite Sirah, and Chardonnays. Our second Estate vineyard, The Bell Ranch Vineyard, is located in Upper Carmel Valley. This is a much warmer climate that lends itself to Cabernet, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Viognier grapes. This vineyard has quickly become well known for the quality wines it produces.
